In this second newsletter, which will coincide with the international show in Milan, LIFT '98, I want to share with you a few ideas that I feel are of interest to us all.
 
We have changed more in these past two years than in all the previous ten years we have been working in this sector. We have been preparing for this challenge for a long time and have opted decisively for the R&D that will enable us to integrate complete lifts and present new lines of more sophisticated components with improved features.
 
All the advances we will be presenting at LIFT '98 are oriented toward complying with Directive 95/16/EC on lifts, which will be mandatory starting in July 1999. Our company is fully prepared for it.
 
For the past three years MP Macpuarsa has been working with a quality assurance system implemented according to the requirements of DIN-EN-ISO 9001. In December we underwent a quality audit under the same standard by a notified body according to Directive 95/16/EC.
 
We feel that the new Directive is a great opportunity since it eliminates all the technical barriers among the EU countries. We are also working closely with installers to assist them in complying with the essential health and safety requirements provided for in the Directive.
 
We feel that the future will see the need for technological alignment between installers and manufacturers with in-house R&D.

BEFORE & AFTER SALES SERVICE


BEFORE&AFTER-SALES SERVICE is very important in the manufacture of lift components and should be part of manufacturer-customer relations in any sales operation. It is not enough just to sell; customers also need support for all their needs and whenever they have a problem.
 
At MACPUARSA, our policy of continuous investment in R&D and our Technical Department to improve and diversify our input to the sector has also involved a major commercial expansion in Spain and throughout the world in setting up Sales and Technical Outlets (STOs) to provide sales coverage and BEFORE&AFTER-SALES SERVICE.

Our Before-Sales Service has two major objectives:
training and information.

Training is essential to keep up with technological advances and changes and for improving our business. It is addressed to MACPUARSA personnel and customers; courses are given periodically at STOs and at our central offices, and in customers' facilities as well, with MACPUARSA assuming the costs. We are always ready to meet our customers' needs and make our facilities and staff available.
 
Information has two components:
 
Information for our customers on all new developments or changes in our products, with a view to preventing problems caused by lack of communication, made available by mail or on our web site.
 
Information from the marketplace to our company, giving customers an active role in our development and receiving their suggestions and complaints.

Our After-Sales Service is available by telephone or on site in Spain and elsewhere, turning each consultation into a practical training course. Our technical personnel in the factory and outlets send all complaints to the quality assurance department and provide an immediate, individual solution for each customer. The quality assurance department takes whatever corrective measures are necessary to ensure that the problem does not occur again.
 
Part of the web site we are creating will be devoted to customer service where you can contact us with any complaints, suggestions or remarks. They will be analysed by the persons responsible for each area, considered for implementation and replied to.
 
At MACPUARSA we are convinced that only by adhering to this philosophy can we attain our objectives together with our customers.
