Quality in the MP Group



This year, 2003, we were awarded the certification in accordance with the new ISO 9001:2000 standard, granted by TÜV Management Service, for the Quality Management Systems used in the various companies that make up the MP Industrial Group.

Likewise, and with a spirit of cohesion and permanent transmission of the Institutional Engineering culture as an essential value in the management of the companies, MP Corporation has set up a General Quality Policy and a General Quality Manual, which have enabled us to obtain, for the first time the certification of MP Corporation in accordance with the ISO 9001:2000 Standard.

The important step forward that this certification has meant is based on two aspects:

- The new approach that the ISO: 9001:2000 represents with respect to the earlier 1994 edition. In this sense, these new quality systems introduced in the group's companies have gone from being simply quality assurance tools for our products and services, to being a tool for quality management, based on principles in line with those on which any Excellence model is based.

- The existence of a Single Quality Policy for the Group, and a General Quality Manual, is a further contribution to the desire to integrate all the companies of the Group, and may be used as a reference to:

- To promote and optimise joint resources in the companies of the group under a global approach and management. Audits, systems, material resources, procedures, technical and technological capabilities, products and services.

- To encourage and develop the exchange of information, initiatives and experience between the different companies of the group with regard to practices and methods in the areas of quality, environment and safety.



- To contribute to increasing the level of competition of the different companies of the group, with products and services that bring added value, by means of quality in the management, processes and control of the companies, most important indicators.

Therefore, the main pillars on which MP's common quality policy is based are:

- Customer focus:

To channel efforts towards customer satisfaction, to establish lines of analysis in order to know the customer's needs and expectations and thereby establish coherent objectives.

To measure customer satisfaction and maintain customer forms of communication, information and participation in order to ensure their loyalty, reinforcing the idea that the solution to their problems and needs lies in MP, from the variety of products and services on offer.

- Human Resources:

To install the worker's confidence with the company and motivation in their work, through training, participation and clear expectations for personal and professional development.

To increase the professional level and qualification of employees is a constant feature in MP. Over this year, a total of 3500 reading hours are going to be invested through different training courses for workers.

To create a working environment that encourages teamwork, responsibility and commitment to the company.

We aim to make MP the ideal place for the development and promotion of new professionals, with one requirement: ENJOY WORKING.

- Business culture.

MP stands out due to its firmly rooted business culture based on Institutional Engineering as an essential value.

This culture, which extends to all levels of the company, generates a favourable climate for the development of managers, basing their promotion on the results obtained and creating knowledge, feeling and sensitivity in their actions.

The responsibility of each person is encouraged in the quality of the work they carry out, and their commitment and participation in the organisation's objectives.

Data and values are established which make it possible to receive continuously updated information from the companies, as well as to take decisions and establish goals and strategies adapted to the objective reality.



- Continuous improvement.

By taking the new approach aimed at processes that earn us the abovementioned standard, continuous improvement plans are established which enable us to optimise our processes and ensure the quality of our products from the prevention of errors, not only from the moment they are detected.

Continuous improvement:

-of the quality of our products, from our customers&Mac226; points of view,

-of environmental behaviour and sustained development: during 2004, it is planned to integrate the Environmental and Safety Management Systems in our Quality Systems,

- and the efficiency of the system,

are strategic factors of MP's activities.

Nowadays, our quality management system is prepared to assume this great challenge for continuous improvement and the road towards Excellence in production, service and management, which are necessary requirements for competitiveness, survival, development and progress of the companies of the MP Group committed to the customer, society and workers.
