THE MP CORPORATION PARTICIPATES IN THE NEW ANDALUSIAN ECONOMY FORUM HELD IN MADRID
The future of the Andalusian economy is through investment in R+D, in infrastructures and private initiatives.
Both the chairman of the Junta, Manuel Chaves, and the Minister for Economy and Finance, José Antonio Griñan, pointed out that Andalusian competitiveness will be supported by the entrepeneurs, the investment will be supported by R+D+I, and an increased presence of Andalusian companies in external markets, and therefore a public investment will be made which will amount to 7 per cent of regional GDP.
The New Economy Forum, held in Madrid in March, organised by the publication Wall Street Journal Europe, with the sponsorship of Unicaja and Fertibería, was attended by important representatives from the business sector in Andalusia and the members of the Andalusian Government Council. Consequently, as well as Paulino Plata, Minister for Tourism, the president of MS Hoteles Group, Miguel Sánchez (head of Andalusian employers in the sector) and the correspondent from Barceló Hotels, Simón Pedro Barceló also attended.
Our president, Gonzalo de Madariaga was a speaker along with the Minister for Innovation, Francisco Vallejo, and were also accompanied by the president of EADS-CASA, Francisco Fernández, and the president of Novasoft, Francisco Barrionuevo. And along with Concepción Gutiérrez, Ministrer of Public Works, Juan Miguel Villar Mir, president of the construction firm OHL and the head of Azvi, Manuel Contreras were involved.
The final speech was shared between Antonio Fernández, Employment Minister, and the regional heads of UGT (Manuel Pastrana), CCOO (Francisco Carbonero) and CEA (Santiago Herrero), who dealt with issues of compromise in social affairs.
Among some one hundred guests, the president of Telefónica, César Alierta, the president of El Corte Inglés, Isidoro Álvarez and the heads of Endesa, Manuel Pizarro and Iberdrola, Iñigo Oriol were also there. As was the president of the construction company ACS, Florentino Pérez and the president of SOS Cuétara, Jesús Salazar.

I MP TECHNICAL SEMINARS IN THE CONTEXT OF JEREZ
On 21 January, the Engineering and Auxiliary Industry, and Engineering, Services and Environment departments convened a Technical Seminar, in Jerez de la Frontera, with the following objectives:
- To present the MP Industrial Corporation, as an entity to serve
Jerez.
- To involve the Consejo Regulador de la Denominación de Origen
Jerez (Regulatory Council of the Denomination of Origin Jerez) as a vehicle for new engineering initiatives and R+D.
- The introduction of Management Systems in the context of Jerez.
- Introduction of the team: Puente de Andana.
-All the Jerez Wine-Producers were invited to the seminar with the Collaboration of the Consejo Regulador de la Denominación de Origen Jerez represented by their president, Jorge Pascual, as well as the Engineering firm Otte y Merino, the boiler company Secovisa, and the media.
There was a high attendance by the invited companies, and the purpose of the Seminar was widely achieved.
MP IN THE INSTITUTO INTERNACIONAL SAN TELMO SEMINARS
Under the name of “Opportunities in emerging markets: Eastern Europe”. Instituto Internacional San Telmo institute, held some technical seminars in January as part of its Continuity schedule, in which our Corporation was represented in the area of lifts.
Rafael Ruiz Nieto, associate director of the department, participated as a speaker, and in keeping with the Group communication policy, he provided a global view of what MP is and of its capabilities in different lift sectors, in addition to spreading the experience from Eastern Europe and more specifically in Poland through Prolift.
Almost one hundred company directors from Andalusia and Extremadura attended the Seminar.
