COURSE IN BRASIL

On 22 and 23 February, MP BRASIL inaugurated its courses for lift maintenance and preservation companies in Sao Paulo.   The session was opened by the regional manager of MP BRASIL.   He immediately gave the floor to MP’s Before- and After-Sales Service Manager, Hani Saliba, who talked about the importance and concern that the technical support service receives from our parent company.   After that, the Before- and After-Sales Service Manager of MP BRASIL, Wladir N. Chagas, gave the courses on controllers, converters, rescatamacs and all the Macpuarsa products, answering questions from those present.   The aim of these courses, apart from making Macpuarsa products known, was to contribute to a greater relationship between the lift manufacturers and the maintenance companies, as very little had been done in this regard so far.   The courses were quite well received by those attending, and they fomented the idea of Macpuarsa as a firm that passes on its technology and helps the maintenance companies in regard to its products.   The repercussion from the courses was remarkable. Companies from other cities have already requested them in order to improve their technical quality.   Through these courses we hope to make a contribution to the technical and commercial development of the companies in this country.

GREECE

MP HELLAS, an affiliate of MP in Greece whose sales in 1998 totalled 1,200,000 euros and whose projected sales for 1999 is 1,500,000 euros, has increased the size of its facilities by 600 m2, so it now has 300 m2 of office space, 400 m2 for the assembly of controllers and control stations, and a 500 m2 warehouse, in a building in the north of Athens.   KLEEMANN HELLAS, a Greek hydraulic lift factory, has approved our MICROBASIC controllers and COMPAC control stations, as well as our semiautomatic doors, and decided to include them in their complete hydraulic lift.   Apart from operating in the Greek market, KLEEMANN HELLAS also exports to several other countries around the world.   MALTA. MP is well positioned in this Mediterranean country. Through their authorized distributor Topserv Ltd., MP has secured a 20% share of new installations annually. It is our aim to increase this percentage in the coming years. There are MP lifts in residential and public buildings, hotels, shopping centres, etc.

The new Council for Scientific Research (Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas) facilities, which have been called the National Accelerator Centre (Centro Nacional de Aceleradores), have recently been completed. This centre includes the first nuclear particle accelerator in Spain, which makes the Isla de la Cartuja, where the centre is located, an even more important scientific and technological site within Spain. Due to our constant interest in taking part in the latest technological advances, R&D personnel from MACPUARSA have paid a visit to the facilities with a view to expanding our relation with the University of Seville in the future. The University of Seville, which began its relationship with MACPUARSA six years ago, collaborated on the creation of the CNA.

In places like those in the photo, our Pre/After-Sales people carry out the most “dangerous” operations, having to tackle unexpected hitches, such as this bee hive.   This is clear proof of the “risks” our “soldiers” have to face.

"CAFÉ DO GOL"

The famous football player ROMARIO owns a bar called "CAFÉ DO GOL" in the coastal town of Barra da Tijuca, north of RIO de JANEIRO.   In the bar there is a panoramic hydraulic lift with a MICROBASIC controller installed by KOHL Elevators.
