FROM GERMANY

MACPUARSA Deutschland GmbH   A great project has been born B now in Germany also. In the direction of supplying MACPUARSA components for the German market, we are expanding our facilities in Berlin. We have moved to our new offices with more than 450m2, including a warehouse, showroom, classroom and assembly plant for our controllers.   In order to adapt components to the demanding German market, Peter Witt started as a technician, and also works in our Before-and-After-Sales Service. He worked more than 15 years in the development of controllers at Schindler and another two years at Vestner Aufzüge building lifts.

Also the new salesman, Mr. Marcus Wentzel, has extensive experience in the lift area. He began his career at Schindler and worked in the spare-parts and renovation department until he joined MACPUARSA.   Yvonne Neiss is the warm-hearted woman who deals with everything in the office. She is the person to ask for anything you need.   The main idea is to help our customers and friends by giving them high quality, short delivery time, prompt delivery and a friendly price policy, to be strong and successful. FROM THE NETHERLANDS

MP Macpuarsa BV   On March 1st 1998, North Europe Area Manager José María Compagni opened a branch office for MP in the Netherlands to cover the northern part of Europe (Benelux and Scandinavia). The main purpose was to be close to our customers and explore the market. Currently the team in the Netherlands consists of 3 people: Aukje Alkema, Ben Hogeveen and Rowan Lebbink. Aukje Alkema is general secretary, Ben Hogeveen is technical office manager and Rowan Lebbink is the technical commercial after-sales manager.   Early in 1999 we moved to offices in a modern industrial part of Haarlem.   When we began in 1998, MP had one customer in the Netherlands, which is Normlift. Owing to the positive reactions of many companies, we are now working in the Netherlands with a respectable number of customers. MP is able to offer a wide range of high-quality, cost-efficient products in combination with a good Before-and-After-Sales Service.   Due to Ben Hogeveen's experience in complete lifts, the Dutch branch office can offer a full range of service in price quotes and orders. Because we are equipped with AutoCAD for drawing work, we can respond quickly in most cases when a tailor-made quote is required within a short time. Quotes made by MP Netherlands are in most cases accompanied by a drawing.   MP Netherlands can also offer product training courses for our customers which are usually given on site in the shaft when the first MP products are being installed for the particular customer.   In addition to product training, MP Netherlands also provides technical support for customers on site.

The Netherlands as a country of machine-roomless lifts Because the Netherlands is a country where the machine-roomless lift is the most popular type, MP worked in co-operation with Normlift--a customer for controllers since 1994--to develop a controller suitable for the "Econorm," the machine-roomless lift by Normlift. Because of the compact dimensions of the components used in this controller, MP was able to provide the best solution.   Training in internal products and procedures:   Last July Miss Claudia García Espejo arranged a product training course for the employees in MP Netherlands. For one week Aukje, Ben and Rowan were trained in all the products and codes.

FROM ARGENTINA

A workshop was held on 14 and 15 July on Microbasic controllers and other lift components at the Association of Lift Specialists and Technicians in Cordoba, given by Santiago Giménez of Before-and-After-Sales Services in MP Argentina. Attendance at the workshop was high and much interest was shown by the participants, who asked numerous questions, especially about the use of controllers with frequency changers in modernising old one- or two-speed lifts.
