Annex IV of Directive 95/16/EC of 29 June 1995 on lifts gives a
list of safety components. Of these, the only electric devices
included are those in the form of safety switches containing electronic
components. The MICROBASIC controller made by MP is not an electronic safety component according to the above
definition. Nevertheless, since it is used for taking readings
from the electric safety chain, it was designed to comply with
the testing requirements for electronic safety components, as
provided by item 14.1.2.1.3 of EN 81. In this respect, the MICROBASIC
controller meets the following test standards:
