Comunications INFRASTRUCTURES

MACPUARSA has a modern, complex and powerful COMMUNICATIONS infrastructure allowing VOICE and DATA transfer at rates unprecedented in the lifts sector.
It is important to note that these SERVICES, which have traditionally been used internally to optimise the INTERNAL MANAGEMENT of companies, have, since the very beginnings of MACPUARSA, been simultaneously developed as a basic tool for both INTERNAL MANAGEMENT USE AND CLIENT SERVICE, using the latest Internet-based ELECTRONIC BUSINESS trends (eBusiness, B2B).
Aware of the importance of communications in the business environment, MP has developed a strong data, voice and mobile infrastructure facilitating real time access to group information from any office or from anywhere, via the Internet.
This infrastructure involves objectives, services, maintenance and control.

1. Objectives:
- Integration of data, voice and mobile communications.
- Speed in handling consultations and data entry.
- Centralisation of services.
- Facility in client management.
- Security of internal data.
- Mobility, since the system is centralised.
- Cost savings.

2. Services:
2.1. Data:
- Head and Branch Offices, Interconnection: Every single one of our MPs offices works on a national level with the same information, accessing any data created within our organisation in real time. Data interconnection is currently being developed in some of our international offices.
- E-mail and Internet: MP has a Group-wide e-mail system that allows mail to be read from anywhere in the world and the possibility to send appointments, work, comments and mail.
- Telecommuting: Using specially set-up lines, VPN or mobile phones connected to a PC or PDA, via GSM or GPRS. Providing a whole range of possibilities depending on the users profile.
2.2. Corporate voice (fixed to mobile): Possibility of calls between fixed stations, fixed to mobile and mobile to fixed at corporate calling rates and with quick dialling.

3. Maintenance and control:
MP has a network monitoring and alarms system to constantly report on the networks status. These systems emit warning signals and send short messages to technicians whenever any of the connections shows up as being out of service. The objective is to maintain the network 100% operational.

Finalists in Aragón for the PILOT PRIZE

The companies SAFA Galénica, Auxiliar de Componentes Eléctricos (ACE), Oerlikon Soldadura, Amylum Ibérica and Macpuarsa have been distinguished as finalists for the PILOT prize for logistic excellence, awarded by the Aragonese Promotion Institute (IAF). The name of the winner will be announced in Zaragoza at the International PILOT Inverse Logistics Forum.

Javier Urrecha, managing director of IAF, explained the scope of the forum the first of its kind in Spain and announced that those taking part in it would receive a logistics self-diagnosis tool developed under the PILOT programme (Programme for Logistic Innovation in Aragón), organised by the IAF. This is a practical working material on CD-ROM which allows each company to evaluate the degree of development of the logistic activities within its structure as well as to start different measures to improve it. It is a tool that contains an internal analysis methodology to report periodically on the situation and check the results of the improvements in the six areas under scrutiny: supply, manufacture, storage, distribution, sales and customer service.

The IAF organises this PILOT international forum under the auspices of the Spanish Logistics Centre (CEL); it brings together experts from various countries in the inverse logistics field, which is concerned with the recovery and recycling of containers, packaging and dangerous wastes as well as the process for returning surplus inventory, repayments to clients, obsolete products and seasonal inventories.
