Ten years after the Universal Exhibition, the promise of a territory that would serve as an engine for economic and social development and generate employment, is today a reality.
The "enterprising" island, the island "of modernity and of the future", this is our Technological Park in Seville: CARTUJA 93.
The park that was the scene of the Universal Exhibition has more than 80% of its area occupied, 15,000 people work here and turnover totals 901.52 million euros.
MP has a stake in it occupying a total of 5,500 m2:
- 3,650 m2: MP Pavilion
- 1,100 m2: MP Lifts R+D Laboratory
- 750 m2: MP Environment R+D Laboratory

TURKEY PAVILLION: 10 years of research in MP Environment
At MP-Environment we are quite sure that our distinction lies within the Turkey Pavilion. Since it was opened, back in 1992, a venture was clearly undertaken to simulate purifying processes as the best way of optimising wastewater purifying treatments. The study of each particular case and the data obtained from the test allowed us to guarantee performance levels and demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed treatment.
During these first years we were the only ones struggling along loaded with bottles of waste water in all different colours. And we should remember that for lack of laboratory resources, tests had to be carried out at Grupo Tar, at the Escuela de Ingenieros Técnicos Industriales de Sevilla (College of Industrial Technical Engineers of Seville). The first laboratory of our own was set up in 1994 equipped with a Jar-test and all the elements necessary to carry out physicochemical tests. We soon had to start increasing the possibilities of simulation for other treatments, and it was not long before we installed all the equipment necessary for carrying out specialized analyses in the area of waste contamination.
Today in the Turkey Pavilion we can guarantee that we have one of the most complete laboratories specialised in the purification of waste in Spain.
- We have all the equipment needed to carry out waste analysis and the analytical maintenance of more than 100 industrial waste treatment plants.
- We have pilot plants for the simulation of:
> pretreatment (screening, homogenising...)
> physicochemical treatment.
> physicochemical treatment by means of flotation.
> aerobic biological treatment using activated sludge.
> sequential aerobic biological treatment "in batch" (SBR).
> aerobic biological treatment with membrane filtration (MBR).
> aerobic biological treatment using biofilter.
> anaerobic biological treatment using contact process
> UASB biological treatment.
> UHFF anaerobic biological treatment.
> Treatment by evaporation.
> chemical oxidation treatment.
> ozonisation treatment.
Today in the Turkey Pavilion we are on the verge of celebrating 10 years of research in more than 50 industrial sectors, which involved analysing the results of more than 300 of the installations set up and studying the waste of more than 2000 industries. 10 years devoted to serving the environment.
