Gearless technology

MP has added Gearless technology to the range of technologies it applies to its products.

MP currently offers efficient solutions depending on the type of building, number of stops and traffic, among others. They provide quality products at competitive prices, applying oleodyanamic technology with 2 speed traction machines and frequency changer (see list of recommendations at www.macpuarsa.es).

As a result of the low level of motor movements,
vibrations and noise levels are reduced

In addition, MP now offers the possibility of applying optimised gearless technology to its range of MP PASSENGER, MP STRONGO, MP MEDIC and MP GLASS lifts.

MP has signed a collaboration agreement with Ziehl-Abegg, as its supplier of Gearless machines.

Gearless technology uses a permanent magnet synchronous motor without gears, which makes the lift car more comfortable.

The accuracy of the frequency changer gives the lift car precision levelling at floor level, thus allowing passengers to enter and leave the car easily.

Smaller traction sheaves may also be used, thus optimising space within the shaft.

This type of high performance machine, allows for greater carrying capacity and speeds.

The rescue system is incorporated into the machine as is the electric manoeuvring (Serial in all Gearless Technology lifts).
The lift brake, which acts directly on the axle, offers increased security and may be used as a device to control uncontrolled movements within the car when ascending.

As a result of the low level of motor movements, vibrations and noise levels are reduced.

It also includes a vibro-acoustic kit which practically eliminates the transmission of vibrations to the buildings structure.

The traction ropes are of high/superior quality and are more resistant to fatigue since there is less expansion. This can increase rope life by 20 to 40%.

The machine may be positioned in the shaft pit or head. It may be placed on beams (Non self-supporting) or on a supported frame and attached to guide rails (Self-supporting).

SELF-SUPPORTING lifts: The machine is supported on the frame which is fixed to and supported by the guide rails.
All loads are distributed within the shaft. This type of lift is ideal for buildings in which the load is not expected to have an effect on the building’s structure.

There is minimal anchorage in the upper part of the shaft.
Carrying capacities of 6, 8, 10 and 13 people and speeds of 1 and 1.6 m/s are available under the self-supporting configuration, which has been applied to the MP PASSENGER, MP STRONGO, MP GLASS (with Murano car) and MP MEDIC lift ranges.

The SELF-SUPPPORTING lift allows for smaller shafts.
NON SELF-SUPPORTING lifts: The machine is supported on a beam which is fitted to several holes in the upper part of the shaft.

The standard overhead is larger and smaller overheads are not available under this configuration. However this type of lift does reduce costs: in the case of a carrying capacity of 13 people, for a small supplement it may be upgraded to a SCM-10/13 at the normal sale price.

Under the non self-supporting configuration, carrying capacities of 10 and 13 people are available, with speeds of 1 and 1.6 m/s. This may be applied to the MP PASSENGER, MP STRONGO, MP GLASS (with Murano car) and MP MEDIC lift ranges.

Gearless Technology for carrying capacities greater than 13 people may be supplied by the Specialist Lift department and carrying capacities of up to 3,000 kg are available in the MP PASSENGER, MP STRONGO, MP GLASS (with Murano car) ranges as well as the C60 model in the MP MEDIC range.

MP, unlike other manufacturers offers double openings (180º and 90º) in ALL its ranges (6, 8, 10 and 13 people).
Places which already have this type of technology are:
Grand Canal Square (see previous MP report) with a machine in the pit and Seville Metro which has Self-supporting lifts with carrying capacities of 10/13 people.
