MP, in order to offer a wider variety of improved services, has incorporated a new Consultancy department into the Services Area of the Engineering, Services and the Environment Division. This department mainly specialises in the field of quality and the environment and aims to provide services to clients interested in adapting in order to meet the regulations applicable to their activities. These regulations are becoming increasingly stringent due to the requirements of the European Union and the Spanish Central and Autonomous Governments.

The Consultancy and Projects Department has a multidisciplinary human team which has been forming and specialising in the various products of the department.

We offer an integral service that informs the persons responsible of the company’s starting off situation as well as drafting the necessary reports, studies or projects. It also takes the relevant steps required by each relevant authority and closely monitors the process made by each. The services we offer include:

• Drafting Environmental Diagnostics, evaluating whether the environmental regulations in force are being met.
  c Implementing Projects and Legislation for installations, whether a new installation or the extension of existing installations (Technical Reports and Projects, Evaluation of Environmental Impact, Environmental Report, etc).
• Dealing with the procedures for obtaining authorisation from the relevant authorities in each case (opening licence, waste authorisation, authorisation to manage or produce toxic or urban waste, entry into the Industrial Registry, Integrated Environmental Authorisation, etc).
• Implementation of a system for Quality Management (ISO 9001), environmental management (ISO 14001) food safety (BRC), etc.
• Alert and Maintenance annual service for your environmental management in terms of deadlines for submitting compulsory reports to the relevance authorities (e.g. declaration of waste, packaging, periodic land reports, measurement of atmospheric emissions). This service must be specific to each client’s needs by means of a previous study of the company’s starting off situation.
  

• Updates regarding the legislation applicable to the activity.
• Advice about any environmental concerns that arise and proposals for corrective action.
  Furthermore, our department also has another line of activity called Sustainable Urban Projects. Any new urban development (especially if far from the urban area) must gain previous approval for their solutions for water and energy supplies, refuse collection, wastewater treatment process, construction of collectors, etc. Therefore, the Consultancy and Projects Department drafts diagnostics outlining the main environmental drawbacks in the area in question and consideration is given to the following:
  
• Integral water cycle study.
• Necessary procedures and documentation and installations required for the integral water cycle.
• Integral waste cycle study.
• Availability of energy study.
• Networks, communication and monitoring study.

Architectural/surveying studies and development plans are used when establishing the diagnostics and projects regarding the necessary infrastructures. Having the security of these factors guarantees the quality of life for future inhabitants as the amount that the general existing infrastructure can withstand is not exceeded.
