MP participates in the Andalusia-North Africa reverse mission “WATER AND TREATMENT”

The Environment Area of MP Group’s Engineering, Services and the Environment Division, together with other companies specialising in the integral water cycle sector, attended the four-day event which took place from 11 to 14 December at the Andalusian Agency for External Promotion (EXTENDA)’s headquarters in Seville.

Morocco attended on behalf of North Africa represented by the National Office for Drinking Water (ONEP), the Ministry for Land Management, Water and Environment and the Sebou Hydraulic Basin Agency. Tunisia was represented by members of the National Office of Sanitation (ONAS) and the National Society for Water Exploitation and Distribution (SONEDE).


 
 

The Mission’s programme included a visit to the MP Pavilion where engineers Rosalía Jiménez and Jesús Jiménez organised technical seminars. The main focus was MBR and biodestil technologies as optimum solutions to the problems posed by North African representatives: water shortage and contamination. In particular, the contamination of the Sebou river basin caused by olive mill wastewater from mills. The water treatment percentage in Morocco is generally very low..

This event was well received by all those who participated and it led to a collaboration agreement between the Environment Area of the Engineering, Services and the Environment Division and the North African institutions. As a result, firstly, a visit to their installations is pending. Secondly, MP will be provided with contact details of local businesses that may assist us in implementing our technologies and may facilitate MP’s participation the Moroccan government’s tenders as regards water treatment.
