n 19 December 2006, the Chancellor of the University of Seville, Miguel Florencio, and the President of Valentín de Madariaga-MP Foundation, Gonzalo de Madariaga, signed an agreement to create the MP Corporation Chair to promote business organisation, culture and values amongst university students.

The MP Corporation Chair aims to promote teaching and research activities of an interdisciplinary nature. These activities highlight the reality, problems and challenges in business culture through training young university students in various aspects relevant to the organisation, culture and values within business.

This university chair program will also be used as a means of carrying out training programmes and research to help to improve teaching in these subjects for students and graduates of the University of Seville.

The Valentín de Madariaga-MP Foundation allocates € 36,000 per year to fund academic activities. Included in these activities is a yearly Social Responsibility of Business seminar, awarding a prize for the best student business-related work, scholarships, promoting international development cooperation activities, holding post-graduate courses and free elective subjects.

The MP Corporation Chair will promote and channel the existing collaboration between the University of Seville and the MP group, based on the last three academic courses which provided more than 100 students with over 250 teaching hours. Approximately half of these students have completed work experience periods within companies belonging to the Group which has resulted in a job position.
