In the last quarter, the Information and Communication Technology Training Centre Consortium of Malaga, FORMAN, was characterised by the implementation and a large part of the areas covered by thirteen of the fifteen training activities planned for the 2006/2007 academic year.

During these last three months, the 200 students, having already received theory training, have began to envisage their next career step by approaching the companies in the sector. Therefore, companies such as Coritel, Bureau Veritas, DNV, or the Andalusian Centre of Innovation, Information and Communication Technologies (CITIC) have turned to FORMAN to use lectures in order to explain to students the reality they have to face when entering the labour market once their training is finished.

In the last exercise FORMAN has inserted more than 90% of his students in differents companies

All FORMAN courses include work experience within companies in the ICT and Environment sector. To date, collaboration agreements have been signed with firms such as Indra, Coritel, WIGEP or Ingenia. In particular, the Agencia Municipal de la Energía (Municipal Energy Agency) has shown great interest in collaborating with the Valentín de Madariaga-MP Foundation.

II inFORMANdo TECHNOLOGICAL SEMINAR

The II inFORMANdo Technological Seminar on Java Development took place on 30 and 31 January 2007. This seminar was particularly well received by the Technology Park of Andalusia (PTA) companies and the Public Administrations.

During this seminar, there were speakers from the Provincial Innovation, Science and Business Offices of Malaga and Almeria as well as the University of Malaga and large companies such as Sun Microsystems, Indra or IT Deusto.

This first session is in anticipation of the Digital Cities seminar to be held at the beginning of March and expected to be equally well or even better received.
