On 20 December 2006, held on the same day as the Architecture, Engineering and Technology Conference, was the opening of the “United States Pavilion in the 1929 Exhibition” exhibit. This exhibition displayed a selection of plans, administrative documentation, photographs and press releases related to the US’s participation in the Ibero- American Exhibition of 1929 The exhibition, organised by the FIDAS Architecture Foundation, COAS and the Valentín de Madariaga-MP Foundation, was on display in the foundation’s patio from 20 December to 5 February 2007.
The Valentín de Madariaga-MP Foundation offered people in Seville the opportunity to learn about and enjoy the construction and history of the pavilion during the Ibero-American Exhibition of 1929. The pavilion, which was constructed as an exhibition centre and later home to the United States consulate for 75 years, is currently the headquarters of the Valentín de Madariaga-MP Foundation and where the MP Contemporary Art Collection is being exhibited. |
