Two years ago MP Lifts launched a unique initiative within the lift sector: “Service Center”, for the online sale of lift components.

This service is aimed at lift companies, for whom MP once again hopes to remain a main supplier.

Our network of lift clients was the first to use the service during the first phase of the project and they will continue to receive preferential treatment in the future for the loyalty they have shown. However, we are now opening this service up to the entire international professional lift sector, which demands quality components delivered within short timescales.

A Service Center that provides an
e-commerce service for lift components

The Service Center provides them with a fast service in terms of urgent assistance as well as a guarantee for lift users.

The main features of the service are outlined below:

• Fast: the components listed on the website may be delivered to our clients anywhere in the world within 24-48 hours, depending on the postcode.
• Convenience: The order may be made from any computer after the client has been identified using a simple method. Each component will include a photograph so that it may be easily identified. The Service Center will also include a set of components with specific functions, for example, the RD 57/2005 solution (Spanish Royal Decree 57/2005), which establishes requirements for increasing safety in existing lift areas.
  
• Direct: The site can be accessed and navigated directly and information is provided at every stage of the order. The service includes information to help use the web, technical support documentation and spare parts catalogues.
• Transparent: The client can check the units that are in stock in real time before putting their order through. Once the goods have been dispatched the client can check the status through the transport company’s website.
  
• Efficient: The functions have been designed so that they are easy to use. The order is processed electronically directly from the lift company to the central warehouse, without any intermediaries..
  
• Global: The website is currently available in six languages (Spanish, English, French, German, Dutch and Italian).
  
• The Service Center warehouse is in Zaragoza (Spain) and is staffed by two people who work full-time. As a result of optimal organisation, there is a high level of activity within the warehouse. It handles more than 650 orders every month, except on weekends and public holidays. The service’s profitability is based on reducing factory delivery times and using the maximum number of rotations possible.

MP Lifts by introducing their e-commerce service becomes the e-commerce “trendsetter” in the lift market

The Service Center is an excellent tool for selling components which MP Lifts has manufactured for over 20 years, as well as those components from other lift and escalator manufacturers. The following are an example of some of the manufacturing components available:

• Small mechanical components: Buffers, retractable ramps and cable tie terminals are to be noted. MP has been and remains the leading manufacturer of these types of components.
• Small electronic components: Position indicators, magnetic and photoelectric switches, alarms and emergency lighting, emergency telephones, inspection boxes and pit stops.
• Push button box: Push buttons, push button boxes on the floors and within the cabin.
• Controllers: MP have designed and manufactured more than 150,000 controllers worldwide. We particularly recommend the Microbasic controller with frequency changer, which is ideal for refitting lifts.

In order to promote the availability of these components in Service Center, MP Ascensores will launch the product to lift companies worldwide within the next few months and will present it at the 2007 International Interlift Fair, which will be held in Augsburg in Germany in October.

MP Lifts, through MP Sistemas, which is a subsidiary company of the MP Corporation, introduces electronic commerce and in this way leads this new approach within the lift sector.
