The creation and development of new products is fundamental to the growth and progress of a company. We are well aware of this fact, and we see it happening constantly in all of MP’s areas. We have now turned our attention to our lift doors, starting with landing doors and proceeding shortly afterwards to car doors. The commercial name of the new model shall be the Massen door.
Each new product involves a series of stages: product definition, range, design, manufacturing and installation processes, lifespan of the product.
The Massen door has been designed to be the door for the complete Integrated Lift (ACIN). We are not aiming to cover the full range of doors with this model, nor even the range of doors which we currently manufacture (the classic door). In line with the standardisation process currently in progress, we aim to cover the following range: telescopic and centre-opening doors with a width of 700-900 and headroom of 2000, 2100 and 2200. RAL 7044 epoxi painted, stainless steel AISI-314. It complies with the new safety rules for lift doors EN 81-58, as standard, with the classification E-120.
The aim of the ACIN (Complete integrated lift) philosophy is that the lift should be more competitive, irrespective of whether cost reduction is achieved in terms of materials or assembly time. We are aware of how high assembly costs can be, especially in new installations, and we have therefore striven to obtain the best result possible from the door once it is installed. We are convinced that it is much more efficient to deliver the door disassembled. Once the fixing brackets are in place, it will take one person only 20 minutes to assemble and adjust the door on the car platform.
As a description of the full assembly process is beyond the scope of this document, suffice it to say that the weight of the door has been considerably reduced, and that the adjustment of the door has been simplified, which definitely aids assembly.
With this new door we have made aesthetic improvements on the one hand, and on the other, we have reduced the dimensions of the head jamb, uprights and sill.

In addition, we have designed some extras which aid installation:
- Gauge to ensure correct separation from the car.
- Shaft protector so that the door zone closes completely, ensuring that no immediate building work is needed and that the door panels do not interfere with the walls as they open.
- Protection from dirt: the mechanism shall always be delivered with a protective film which should be removed once the door has been fully assembled, as well as an optional re-usable sill protector which will allow the correct functioning of the door when used.
The door is the entrance to the lift, and we should never lose sight of the fact that the real objective of a door is to ensure the satisfaction of the end user. So what are we doing to ensure this? On the one hand, we have made aesthetic improvements, as the dimensions of the head jamb, uprights and sill have been reduced, giving the door a new, more compact image, and also allowing it to be used in installations with smaller height floors. We have also made some functional improvements: the panels are now thicker, making them more robust. The new mechanism has an extruded aluminium guide rail with larger diameter wheels, which in turn improves comfort and decreases noise levels.
All in all, the new door is now a reality and we are convinced that it will be to everyone’s satisfaction.
