The installation of the Hardware infrastructure designed to provide support to the Citizen services at the Úbeda-Baeza Digital City was completed in September.

The Digital Cities Programme to which this project belongs is a telecommunications Programme which aims to promote and introduce the information society in a local environment, including subjects such as tele-administration, electronic trade/business, teleworking, teletraining, telemedicine, management of public use services, applications for groups with special requirements, culture, tourism and leisure, domestic and mobile environments, etc. All these are based on broadband telecommunications networks.

Thanks to this project, co-ordinated by the Jaen Provincial Council, these municipalities have been equipped with a set of state-of-the-art Systems where reliability, flexibility and performance are top priority. The equipment has been manufactured by the multinational, Fujitsu-Siemens Computers, with whom MP Systems holds a business collaboration agreement for solutions sale.

The MP Systems team, certified in the solutions implemented, has carried out the installation, configuration and start-up of the processing, storage, support and networking components. Thus, the Jaen Provincial Council itself has been provided with an environment designed to ensure the implementation of the electronic administration services developed within the framework of the Digital Cities programme.
