Bodegas Alvear, a traditional family business devoted to wine-production since 1729, is one of the most prestigious and internationally recognised bodegas in Spain and it is the oldest in Andalusia.

The implementation of MIC2000 ERP+ has been aimed at the computerisation of business processes in the divisions of Production, Purchases, Sales, Commercial Management, Storage, Logistics, Accounting and Finance. The project started with a detailed analysis of the business processes and divisions, together with the differential aspects of Alvear, leading to the proposal of an innovative business model, adapted to quality requirements and the specific needs of the sector and of Bodegas Alvear.

Through the implementation, as regards the Management division, special emphasis has been placed on simplifying the administrative tasks by automating processes with the automatic entry of orders (ORDERS) and generation of delivery notes (DESADV) and invoices (INVOICE). This functionality has allowed, in collaboration with the EDICOM platform, the systematisation of file exchange between companies in accordance with EDI standards.

The following is of special interest in the sales division: creation of templates for commercial tariffs and agreements, payment management for atypical discounts, automatic generation of customs documentation, and establishment of a logistics system integrated with the EAN128 labelling generation. The main objective in this division has been to enable the availability of information in order to analyse, anticipate and facilitate strategic decision-making.

In the Production division, emphasis has been placed on the definition of production log sheets and the management of production orders with different states, simplifying the entry of information to the application and guaranteeing traceability.

In the Accounting division, in addition to the usual functions regarding legislation, alcohol tax and green dot management relevant to companies in the sector has been introduced.

For MP Systems, the implementation of MIC2000 ERP+ in Bodegas Alvear presented a challenge within the ICT services directed at the sector, while also placing Alvear as a reference point to be followed thanks to its involvement and commitment to the incorporation of new information technologies.
