The 2nd Master of Building Technology program from the Universidad de Cantabria (UC) has been taking place in Santander since Februar y and will continue until June. The Building Technology Group (GTED), led by Prof. Luis Villegas Cabredo of the aforementioned University’s School of Civil Engineering, is in charge of the program organization.

The Master’s program is directed by professionals from the involved sectors (architects, a r c h i t e c t u r a l technicians, civil engineers, public works engineering technicians) as well as students recently graduated from those programs.

Continuing with the tradition begun in the 1st Master’s program, MP was again invited as speaker for the impor tant segment on “Installations of ver tical transpor t in buildings”. Said presentation was made on 6 Februar y 2008 by Manuela Delgado Cruz, Product Manager for Complete Electric Lifts and José Alber to Roig Domínguez, Manager of New Technologies for the Lift Technical Depar tment, to an audience of more than 50 professionals and recent graduates in the aforementioned specialties.

The lecture given included impor tant subjects such as descriptions of current ver tical transport systems, lift typologies and components, escalators and moving walks, and the integration of systems in a building from both the technicalfunctional and esthetical-architectural perspectives. After wards, copies of our Ver tical Transpor t Manual and Product Catalogue were given to the attendees.

We are convinced that events like this one are ver y valuable for making our company better known in building sectors. The organizers have assured us of our par ticipation in next year’s program as well.
