On 14th January, the first rail traction gear boxes manufactured by MP left our facilities in the Calonge industrial estate in Seville. These components are to be used in the Metro-Centro Sevilla trams. This event brought an end to an arduous industrialization phase of a new product for a sector with extremely demanding specifications and marked the beginning of the mass production stage.

Our advance into this interesting sector has been made possible by a strategic approach that has already yielded positive results for MP on other occasions. A development approach (R&D&i) that has enabled MP to attain the level of specialisation necessary to provide an integral service (Design and Manufacture) which is adapted to the clients’ needs. Moreover, it is important to point out that this development approach is a product of a synergy among different companies within MP with the resulting use of the capabilities in the synergy.

MP’s portfolio currently includes three orders for a value of 1.75 million: Metro- Centro, Antalya (Turkey) and Vitoria, which will be ongoing throughout 2008. Moreover, 2009 is expected to be a year of significant potential growth.
