AECI (the Spanish Agency for
International Cooperation) has
granted MP’s teaching team
at the Universidad de Sevilla
(Seville University) a subsidy for developing
an international cooperation project with the
Ciego de Ávila University in Cuba, of which
the foundation will be an active participant.
The province of Ciego de Ávila is located
in the centre of the island of Cuba. Over
the last few years it has experienced
dramatic development based on tourism,
especially in the Northem Keys Area,
where many hotels have been built. This
sudden boost in development has also
sparked the economic development of the
province, including the infrastructures,
communications, construction and all
production sectors in general. As a result of
this development, the management needs
of institutions have grown exponentially.
The Ciego de Ávila University is the main
academic and research centre in the area.
It works in close cooperation with Cuban
companies and institutions to promote the
development and continuous improvement
of the province, and also works with
foreign institutions in collaboration projects
supporting this development.
Subsidy for developing a collaboration
project with the Ciego de Ávila University
in Cuba granted to the Corporación MP
chair at University of Seville.

The project to be subsidised is a collaboration
project between Seville University, Ciego de
Ávila University and the foundation, and
will consist in developing a teaching model
for the implementation of the Business
Management System IMI, which will assist
the development of communities in the area.
This project is based on the already extensive
history of collaboration between University of
Seville and the foundation. The project shall
be divided into two stages. The first shall
be to introduce the Business Management
System IMI to the teaching team of Ciego
de Ávila University by sending them the book
entitled “El Sistema de Control Económico
en la Ingeniería del Marco Institucional”
(The System of Economic Control in the
Engineering of the Institutional Framework),
and also through the course and on-line
tutoring on the system. With this acquired
knowledge and their own knowledge of the
region, the project team will then develop
the optimal model for implementing the
system in local institutions. In the second
phase, the teachers of Ciego de Ávila
University shall visit University of Seville.
The aim of this visit shall be twofold: to hold
meetings with the Seville project team and
to visit different companies within the MP
Group which will serve as examples of the
business management model once it has
already been implemented. |
