Many visitors to Poland are surprised by the modern architecture flourishing in the country’s large cities. Modern high–rise buildings have sprung up in Warsaw’s financial district, and throughout the country shopping centres are being built with apparently more attention being paid to the architectural style than to business pragmatism. Stary Browar, in Poznan, is perhaps the best example of this. In 2003, one the country's most prestigious architectural practices converted an old brewery into a shopping centre in which the style of Nineteenth Century is fused with the style of the Twenty-first. It comes as no surprise, therefore, that in 2005, the "International Council of Shopping Centers" awarded Stary Browar the prize for the world's best shopping centre in its category.

The Stary Browar lifts were installed by 2 different suppliers. The most complex lift project was probably the installation inside ZARA’s store at the main entrance to the building, as there was a very tight delivery deadline and it had to blend in with the store’s decor. It was a panoramic lift that was finally installed by PROLIFT MP, (MP Ascensores subsidiary company in Poland). Our technical experts worked closely with ZARA’s architects in designing a hydraulic lift with buried piston. The absence of traction cables and the location of the machine room, hidden well away from customer areas combined with the quality finish to make PROLIFT MP’s proposal ideal for this multinational company’s demanding designers.

This type of project is giving PROLIFT MP a leadership position in the panoramic lift sector in Poland. For example, the prestigious LOEGLER architectural practice entrusted us with the installation of two panoramic lifts in Cracow University library. The quality of finish and the fact that the chosen lifts operate silently were fundamental factors for this project. ADS, an architectural practice which has won numerous awards also chose us for the installation of lifts in Poznan airport, where our panoramic lift stands out in the building’s main hall. Similarly, to modernise the courts in Poznan, in the city’s historic centre, the architects asked us to design and install a lift that would blend in with the building’s individual style.
Our team’s flexibility and extensive experience means that we can offer our clients an enormously wide range of solutions when designing or modernising distinctive buildings in Poland’s principal cities. In Poland, the best architects already know that in MP, we adapt to fit your space.
