MP contracted to maintain and operate the water treatment for the hydro-metallurgical plant Cobre las Cruces.

MP Industrial Services has been awarded the contract to operate and maintain the water treatment and  decanting installations for the Hydro-Metallurgical Plant Cobre las Cruces, S.A.

Located in the towns of Gerena, Guillena and Salteras, Cobre las Cruces is the largest mining project in Europe and one of the largest industrial investments in Andalusia. It uses hydro-metallurgy as a clean technology to produce copper and re-uses waste water for the industrial process.

The installations to be operated and maintained by MP Industrial Services include:

  • The pumping station for re-used water from the San Jerónimo de Sevilla WWTP, the impulsion line  (17 Km) and the discharge line (12 Km).
  • The pumping station from the  PSP collection tank and the impulsion line to the hydro-metallurgical plant.
  • The filtration plant and the inverse osmosis plant for the water from the hydro-metallurgical process.
  • The drinking-water plant and the water treatment plant for service waters.

The size of this unique mining project places on MP a great responsibility in carrying out these environmental services.
