In Jerez de la Frontera, in Cadiz province, MP has completed the construction of the CAMPUS EL SABIO International University Centre, developed by the Swedish OUT EDUCATIONAL company. The investment in the construction of the educational complex has been eight million Euros.

Its installations in Jerez have been designed for more than eight hundred students, and there is housing for two hundred and forty-eight. The centre is primarily designed for foreign students and it is planned to cover all levels from primary through secondary, including university degree-level courses and postgraduate studies in subjects such as International Relations, Tourism, Marketing, etc. The classes will be taught in English.

The project includes a school for undergraduate studies and advanced studies, student accommodation and leisure and sporting facilities. The main building is in traditional Andalusian style, constructed on several axes, contains the teaching areas and student accommodation. It is rectangular, with an interior patio for recreation. The administrative area, classrooms, dining hall and workshops are on the ground floor, as are the gym, library, auditorium and multi-purpose room.

The first floor houses the bedrooms and accommodation-support services. The reading and living rooms are located on the building’s transversal axis. The bedrooms on the second floor are only located on the four corners of the building. A gallery has been created around the patio for access to the various rooms. Arcades connect the central patio area to the sports area (playing field and swimming pool).

El Sabio is the first centre in Spain to implement the Finnish educational model, which is considered to be the best in the world.

Lastly, at one end of the plot there are three independent buildings to house the educational centre’s teachers and other professional staff.

The centre has a degree of self-sufficiency as it is designed to provide a complete service to the residents, who can participate in studies, leisure and sporting activities, in addition to using the accommodation and catering.

OUT EDUCATIONAL is a Swedish company which develops and manages educational institutions in several countries world-wide. In Sweden, it provides education for more than ten thousand students and is considered to be the largest educational company in Scandinavia. The centre which it has developed in  Jerez is designed to be bridgehead for its expansion in other countries in Europe, Asia and Central America. This EL SABIO Centre, is a flagship reference in the educational sector, since it will be the first one in which Finnish educational model, which according to the  PISA report is the best in the world, is being implemented.

With this construction project, MP has added a very significant reference to its portfolio of distinctive building works. Our work  with Out Educational, has allowed us to achieve one of our strategic objectives, that of attaining a leading position in the field of distinctive buildings and complete maintenance.
