MP has won the tender process  for building the CITEA Centre for Agri-business Technology and Research for the ASAJA, the Young Farmer’s Agriculture Association (Asociación Agraria de Jóvenes Agricultores) in the Agro-industrial Technology Park in Jerez de la Frontera, Cádiz. This is part of an action plan to re-industrialise the province of Cadiz.

The building, which will have a total built area of eleven thousand two hundred square metres has four floors, four above grade and one below. The three upper floors will be used for offices, the ground floor and the basement for commercial premises, an auditorium, the developer’s office, reception hall and car park.

Offices and commercial premises are “folded” around a central communication area.

The building is organised around a central atrium, surrounded by galleries giving access to the offices and other premises. This atrium is covered by a patio suspended ten metres above it. The upper floors have galleries opening out onto this upper patio.

The shaded facades are enclosed in glass, while the facades directly exposed to the sun have a polycarbonate covering. As this changes according to how the light hits it, the appearance of these sides of the building also changes. The unusual floor layout is designed to be energy-efficient: to protect the offices from direct sunlight, they are north-facing for the views and more stable light levels.

This new reference, a contract worth seven million two hundred thousand euros, broadens MP’s portfolio of technological references and consolidates its position as a leader in the construction of distinctive buildings in Andalusia.
