The most recent VOIP project undertaken by MP Sistemas aims to satisfy the communications requirements of International University of Andalusia (UNIA). This consisted of installing an Asterisk switchboard with approximately seventy IP terminals.

The UNIA (International University of Andalusia) is a public institution founded with the aim of contributing to the creation, development, transmission and criticism in the fields of scientific, technology and cultural studies. The nature of this university’s curriculum makes it a true complement to the cultural and educational offerings of the other Andalusian universities. And for this purpose, it has permanent sites of in Seville, Huelva, Jaen and Malaga.

In recent years, the UNIA has successfully consolidated its activities and is now ready to embark on a new stage in which the fundamental objectives are to strengthen its post-graduate studies, reinforce its international dimension and integrate technology in its teaching processes and practices.

It is in the context of this last aim where MP Sistemas is making a contribution. The most recent VOIP project undertaken by our company aims to satisfy the communications requirements of this Andalusian entity. This consisted of installing an Asterisk switchboard, based on open source software, with more than seventy IP terminals.

MP Sistemas aims to provide this type of entity with the technology required for their systems to grow lineally, while reducing costs. This kind of solution is applied in a hybrid context. It is not a question of totally changing the telephone system which the client was using previously. The VOIP products which we offer can be fully integrated into any Telephone Switchboard, which will keep any disruption to a minimum.

MP Sistemas aims to support this entity in rapidly amortizing any required data infrastructure and also reducing the cost of internal calls within the University by 100%.

The long-term aim of this project is to completely interconnect all the UNIA’s sites.
