A total of two hundred and sixteen pupils from the Salesianos de Triana, Adoratrices de S. Miguel and Salesianos de la Santísima Trinidad schools have participated in the Art and the Environment Workshops. These workshops, organised by the Foundation, have introduced these primary school pupils to Contemporary Art.
The Foundation’s main cultural and educational objectives have been to introduce these pupils to an interpretation of Contemporary Art which goes well beyond the normal stereotypical perception. Through individual and group work, and sometimes through play, the workshops aim to develop the pupils’ creative and expressive mechanisms which will complement what they learn in the art classes taught in their schools.
For this 2008-2009 academic year, there are two new projects for young children, in addition to the abovementioned workshop. These activities form part of the Iniciarte Project, which the Foundation runs in partnership with the State Company for the Management of Cultural Programmes, part of the Andalusian Government’s Department of Culture.
