Last 11th February, a conference on “Ecodesign in product development” was held at CEPYME Aragon, at which we presented our Analysis Model of the Impact of Lifts Life-cycle.

CEPYME-Aragon, together with the Ecology and Development Foundation and the Government of Aragon, were in charge of the event's organization. Opening the day were:
Mrs. Marina Sevilla Tello, General Manager of the Department of Environmental Quality Standards and Climate Change of the Government of Aragon;
Mr. Carlos Javier Navarro Espada, General Manager of Industry and SME of the Government of Aragon;
Aurelio López de Hita, President of CEPYME Aragon;
Mr. Fernando López Ramón, President of the Ecology and Development Foundation.

One hundred companies involved in the manufacturing of energy-using products (EUP) took part in the event. The new European regulations on Ecodesign directly affect this sector. It is worth mentioning the presence of the BSH Home Appliances group (Bosh - Siemens - Hausgeräte), that also presented its own evaluation model on the Environmental impact.

Our Evaluation model on Environmental Impact makes us national pioneers in the application of these techniques to the elevation field. It is a computer design tool capable considering all the environmental impacts attributable to a product during the phases of its life-cycle: manufacturing, use-maintenance, obsolescence. This tool facilitates:

• Compliance with the imminent Environmental Regulation in Ecodesign (DC 2005/32/CE and RD 1369/2007);
  
  
• Economic and environmental improvement of products and procedures;
  
  
• Awareness of the new Requirements of Energy Efficiency (ISO/DIS 25745 and VDI 4707);
  
  
• Adherence to our Quality and Environmental Policy;
  
  
• Brand image strengthening.
