The commercial building and the parking located in Plaza Mayor of Chiclana have been recently completed.
Two years ago, the joint venture composed of Airesur and MP was awarded by the Municipality of Chiclana the contract for the construction of this emblematic building. The Muncipality viewed the venture suggested by the two companies to be an intervention for dynamizing the urban area. The realisation of the project was global in scale, the cost of development having reached approximately seven million of euros.
The final works include the following:
- Re-urbanization work in Plaza Mayor.
- Conditioning of sites surrounding Plaza Mayor.
- Construction of the building housing shops and offices.
- Construction of the basement parking area for 349 vehicles. The parking zone includes entrance and exit ramps provided with basement access, preventing traffic collapse.
- Retreading of the surface of the perimeter road of Plaza Mayor, adapting it to the new dimensions determined by the project.
- Conditioning of the buildings for the owners living in Plaza Mayor.
It is worth mentioning that the project includes the utilization of the shopping centre and basement parking, for a non-extendable maximum period of forty years, starting from the commissioning of the installations.
The new centre was designed in harmony with its adjacent building: the Cathedral of Chiclana, declared a culturally important property by the Council of Andalusia.

The project, conceived to promote the economic and leisure development of the urban area, includes the implementation of infrastructure required by the commercial centre. The integration into the architectural surrounding environment is the piece de resistance of this work.
The commercial building will provide the opportunity for Chiclana businessmen and dealers to site their outlets in the new modern construction. The building has a strategic location: Plaza Mayor, the main centre of the municipality.
Plaza Mayor in Chiclana meant a commitment to projects that represent an authentic driving force.
The commercial centre aims to contribute to the creation of jobs, as well as to the improvement and development of the local corporate sector. It is estimated that the centre, at maximum, will directly employ 177 workers, while indirectly employing between 200 and 221.
In addition, it is predictable that this centre will promote the revitalization of the surrounding area, increase the turnover and give to Chiclana an emblematic building.
Finally, it has to be said that the project designed for Plaza Mayor in Chiclana allowed MP to strengthen its position in the sector of Construction of Offices and Shopping Centres. This sector generally requires, as it did for this case, a planning of global objectives, a setting of scopes and a determining of specific needs to provide the project with coherence. In conclusion, Plaza Mayor in Chiclana meant a commitment to projects that represent an authentic driving force.
