Last December 12, the First Stone of the future Centre for Research and Agrarian Business Technology was laid. The ceremony was celebrated in the plot where the future building is being constructed, located in the Agro-industrial Technological Park of Jerez de la Frontera (Cadiz).
The commencement ceremony was organized by the company sponsoring undertaking of the project, ASAJA, in cooperation with MP Construction Area, and consisted of a brief speech given by the members of institutions and companies involved in the creation of the new centre. Among those participanting, it is worth mentioning the presence of the Honorable Mrs. Pilar Sánchez, Mayor of Jerez, the deputy member for Agriculture and Fisheries of the Council of Andalusia, Mrs. Eva Cano, the architect of the project, Mr. Ramón González de la Peña, MP Financial Director, Mr. José Mª Caballos Cabrera MP Commercial Manager for Construction and Mr. José Antonio Camacho Sánchez. The last one spoke on behalf of the company regarding the relevance of this eminent new technology centre in Andalusia.
An aperitif was then served and the participants were able to sample the products typical of the province.

the PROjECT
Last September, MP was awarded the contract for the construction of the Centre for Research and Agrarian Business Technology (CITEA). This development belongs to the reindustrialization project for the province of Cadiz.
The building, consisting of a total floor area of 11200 m2, has four floors above ground level and one floor below ground level. The three upper floors will be assigned to offices, the others will be equipped with shops, auditoriums, offices for the sponsoring companies, a reception and parking.
 A great part of the plot is characterized by a drop that can reach -3 metres. This drop allowed for the creation of an internal garden that made the basement useable. Offices and outlets are located around a central common area.
The building is arranged around a central atrium surrounded by galleries providing for the entrance to shops and offices. The atrium is covered by a patio approximately ten metres above; while the galleries of the upper floor look over it.
The facades in shadow have been covered with glass panels; the ones in direct sunshine with polycarbonate. This energy efficiency makes the floor unique: everyone going out from the offices, tries to avoid the direct sunshine, looking at the views and the more static light coming from the north.
 By this new contract, which is valued at seven million two hundred thousand euros, MP expands its technological portfolio and strengthens its image as a leading construction company in Andalusia. |
