COBRE LAS CRUCES, located in Gerena (Seville), focuses its activity on the extraction of 99% pure copper, mined in its installations.
As scheduled, the activities started in March 2009, so that the company undertook the first phase of installation and structure construction. After this phase, it was necessary to configure the spare parts that Maintenance will require after the factory's commissioning.
The Engineering company leading the construction project, provided its own nomenclature and only few details about the spare parts recommended by manufacturers. It was for these reasons that most of the materials contained in the warehouse were not identified, making the management of Maintenance operations difficult.
In order to solve this problem, COBRE LAS CRUCES contracted MP services. IPA technical staff acted according to the implementation procedures of our standard service, a service which provides materials identification and configuration of required spare parts.
This process allows for the creation of a database to include every item in the warehouse:
- CUSTOMER CODE
- EXPANDED DESCRIPTION (IDENTIFICATION)
- SUPPLIER REFERENCE
- MANUFACTURER
- MACHINE
- FAMILY
- LOCATION
- STOCK
- MINIMUM STOCK
- MAXIMUM STOCK
- ALTERNATIVE SUPPLIER

The reorganization of the physical warehouse is then carried out: products are combined according to their typology, repeated locations are detected and products are labelled with the new expanded description.
In order to solve this problem, COBRE LAS CRUCES contracted MP services. IPA technical staff acted according to the implementation procedures of our standard service, a service which provides materials identification and configuration of required spare parts.
The warehouse has a capacity of about 3.500 items and the scheduled execution time is 3 months.
Maintenance is currently an outsourced service which is why our company has to do its best to carry out the Integral Industrial Service, consisting of Maintenance, Warehouse and spare parts Management.
