Over a year ago, the Municipality of Rota decided to apply the “Law on Electronic Administration”. MP Sistemas supported the Municipality taking its first steps. The first step consisted of an “electronic front office”, the “on-line window” allowing citizens to make contact with the municipality by e-mail. The second step resulted in the implementation of @firma 5.0, software package that can encode and read electronic signatures.
Over the last few months, the Municipality of Rota and MP Sistemas went a step further: the implementation of port@firmas. Like @firma 5.0, it is a component developed by the Government of Andalusia within its Authorization Platform of Electronic Administration, and has now been assigned to all those Public Bodies that requested it.
Port@firmas replicates the operating model of paper signature archives. Let’s imagine a context requiring citizens’ electronic signature for specific stages of a procedure, i.e. civil registration, building permit, etc…Each citizen will log into Port@firmas by his/her user name and password and will find all the documents requiring his/her signature together, though each may belong to different administrative sections. Once the user has signed the document, it is sent back to the section it pertains to, allowing the administrative procedure to continue.

Port@firmas is like an e-mail host service which, instead of creating messages, creates documents requiring an electronic signature. Port@firmas offers a wide range of signatures: simple signature (document signed by a single person), multiple signature (document signed by several persons without any specific order), cascade multiple signature (document signed by several persons with a specific order), block signature (several documents signed by a single person), etc.
Port@firmas is one of the components developed by the Council of Andalusia within its Authorization Platform of Electronic Administration, then assigned to all those Public Bodies that requested it.
Last January, MP Sistemas finalized the Port@firmas implementation process, presenting the program to over 60 officers of the Municipality of Rota, who will be its direct or indirect users. The presentation was opened by the third Deputy Mayor, Mr. Antonio Alcedo González.
